The four specification decisions
First, internal length with clearance at both ends, so the foam rather than the shell absorbs an impact along the long axis. Second, the lid-to-base depth split: the mass belongs in the base, the retention belongs in the lid. Third, the closure layout, because a long shell flexes in the middle unless latches are spaced along the long edge. Fourth, the separation of any accessories so they cannot travel along the length during a drop.
We publish all four per model. Where a customer needs a case for a specific profile we cut the foam to a drawing, a photograph or a sample.
