A long equipment case is a single-shell container with an internal length of roughly 500 mm to 1,280 mm, used when an item cannot be broken down — survey poles, masts, tripods, long optical assemblies and similar. The engineering problem is shell flex along the long axis, which is why wall thickness and latch placement matter more here than in a compact case.

Supporting the middle of the span
A long case carried at the ends behaves like a beam. Everything inside it that is rigid shares that bending. The fix is either a stiffer shell — more wall thickness, more latches, a ribbed lid — or an interior that lets the equipment float rather than bridge the full length. We normally do both: a thick-wall shell with a carrier at each end and an unloaded middle.
