Custom Foam Inserts
Custom foam inserts: pick and pluck, die-cut, CNC-cut, EVA, PE and EPE. Layered interiors designed around equipment mass, contact pressure and cleanability.
The foam is the product. The shell only decides whether the foam gets the chance to work.
| Name | Best | Trade |
|---|---|---|
| Pick & Pluck | Kits that change between deployments | Lower positional precision |
| Die-Cut Foam | Repeatable medium-volume layouts | Tooling cost per layout |
| CNC-Cut Foam | Fixed, high-value equipment layouts | Longer per-unit time |
| EVA | Firm support under heavy items | Heavier |
| PE / Cross-linked PE | Soft contact layer, cleanable surface | Lower load bearing alone |
| EPE | Low-cost void fill and wrapping | Not a structural carrier |
- Top foam — locates the item and keeps it from moving
- Base foam — carries the mass and absorbs the drop
- Egg-crate / convoluted — a cheap, flexible loose layer for consumables
- Carrier layer — a firmer EPS or cross-linked PE insert under a heavy unit

How is foam thickness chosen?
From the packed mass, the expected free-drop height and the contact pressure the item tolerates. A 50 mm base under a 15 kg assembly behaves very differently from 20 mm.
What is foam density used for?
Density controls creep under sustained load and the peak force transmitted on impact. We specify it per layer rather than across the whole interior.
Can you match an existing interior?
Yes. Send the case or a photograph of the interior and we will reproduce the layout, or improve it.
