What a medical buyer checks first

• Whether the interior can be wiped with the agents the device is cleaned with
• Whether the transducer, probe or optical head is supported on its body rather than its cable
• Whether consumables and spares are visible without opening a compartment
• Whether one clinician can carry the packed mass over the distance they will actually carry it
• Whether the case can be identified at the bedside without reading small print

From ambulance to field post

The same device is often transported in three different contexts: a fixed clinic, a moving ambulance, and a field post where the case sits on the ground. We specify a different interior and closure for each, because a layout that works on a shelf does not work on a gravel verge.
