An equipment transport case is specified for the movement chain rather than for a single site: it has to survive handling at origin, survive a container or an aircraft hold, and arrive ready to open. That makes the external footprint, the pallet fit and the packing data as important as the internal volume.

Designing backwards from the pallet
Most international freight is planned around a 1,200 x 1,000 mm or 1,200 x 800 mm pallet. A case that leaves an unusable 40 mm strip wastes a slot on every layer of every shipment for the life of the product. Where a customer orders repeatedly we therefore check the external footprint against their pallet first, and only then optimise the internal volume.
